ISSUES OF THE USE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES IN IMPROVING THE BUSINESS PROCESSES OF ENTERPRISES OF RUSSIAN ELECTRIC POWER INDUSTRY

Abstract

Introduction. The article clarifies that there is currently renewed interest in ap-plying advanced digital technologies to existing and transforming business processes in the elec-tric power industry, designed to increase the efficiency of its functioning and contribution to the development of the national economy. Materials and methods. The research is based on the ana-lytical opinions of relevant experts, official statistical data and empirical research materials pro-vided by HSE experts. The methods of data collection, comparison, analysis and synthesis, and their graphical interpretation were used, which made it possible to formulate consistent conclu-sions. Research results. It is determined that at present the electric power industry continues to play a significant role in the development opportunities of the national economy. Business pro-cesses in it are transformed under the influence of market demands and business conditions, which implies the activation of adaptation mechanisms responsible for focusing on consumer needs and innovative transformations. Discussion and conclusion. It is clarified that innovations are focused, among other things, on energy efficiency and reducing the environmental burden on the environment, which actualizes the active use of advanced digital technologies. The analysis demonstrates the demand for the use of specialized software and advanced digital technologies in companies in the sector under study. To a greater extent, these technologies are now being used by companies involved in energy supply rather than in its production. Given the current realities, the trend towards the introduction of advanced digital technologies will increase, which also determines the demand for an increase in the number of training relevant specialists to im-prove the efficiency of the industry and its business processes.
