MANAGING THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE REGION BASED ON A PROPULSIVE APPROACH

Abstract

Introduction. The sustainable development of the region has its own characteristics associated with a unique combination of environmental, social and economic factors specific to a particular territory. In this regard, the most important importance is the identification of poles of sustainable regional development, which play the role of catalysts that positively affect various areas of the regional economy and contribute to achieving sustainable development goals in the long term. Materials and methods. Using methodological approaches characteristic of the concepts of poles of growth and sustainable development, the main directions within which the formation of poles of sustainable development has a potential effect are substantiated (tourism and development of creative industries). Research results. Various aspects of the formation and management of the poles of sustainable development are considered, which are understood as key sectors and spheres of the economy that can stimulate positive changes in the region. Tourism and creative industries are considered as examples of poles of sustainable development. The importance of identifying and supporting such poles, which can contribute to economic growth, social integration and environmental safety of the territory in a comprehensive format, is emphasized. The use of ESG mechanisms (principles of responsibility and a reporting system in three areas – ecology, society, governance) is identified as one of the promising tools aimed at supporting this process. In this context, the existing experience of practical use of these mechanisms in a number of Russian regions is being investigated. Discussion and conclusion. The importance of using ESG mechanisms to identify the poles of sustainable development and implement initiatives that contribute to unlocking the potential of sustainable development that they possess is stated. It is noted that there is a need to disseminate the best practices of managing these processes available in various regions.
