STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS OF EXPORT ACTIVITIES OF ENTERPRISES OF THE PETROLEUM AND GAS CHEMICAL INDUSTRY UNDER SANCTIONS

Abstract

The relevance of the research is due to the fact that in modern conditions, the development of the export potential of enterprises in the petrochemical industry is becoming a necessary factor contributing not only to the creation of conditions for industrial production in the domestic market, but also to reducing the country’s dependence on raw material exports. However, under the significant influence of geo- 87 2024 № 2 Vestnik of Rostov State University of Economics (RINH) political factors and increased sanctions pressure, Russian petrochemical enterprises are faced with the need to revise their export strategies. The purpose of the article is to study the strategic directions of export activities of petrochemical industry enterprises under the conditions of sanctions restrictions. The article analyzes the export flows of polyethylene from Russian enterprises, assesses the decline in polyethylene export volumes because of sanctions imposed on Russian enterprises, as well as analyzes potential markets for polyethylene and factors influencing the development of export strategies of enterprises. A study of data on the import of polymers into 132 countries showed that the markets of Vietnam, India, Indonesia, and Malaysia are potential for the export of Russian producers of polymer products; however, the further development of export strategies of petrochemical enterprises requires the development of transport and logistics infrastructure for building new logistics chains and redistributing export streams.
