INTERNATIONALIZATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN CHINA: ACHIEVEMENTS AND CHALLENGES

Abstract

Article provides a retrospective systematic analysis of process of internationalization of higher education in China interms of implementation of comprehensive internationalization model. Impressive dynamics of international activity in the field of higher education over several decades has turned China into an important subject of international scientific and academic community. Government has played and is playing a crucial role in development of China's higher education system, being the initiator and guide of its development process. Geo-economic and geopolitical challenges that China has faced in recent years have revealed the problems accumulated in higher education over the years of reforms, indicating the exhaustion of potential for extensive development of processes of internationalization of higher education in country.
