Abstract

Article examines the comprehensive initiatives taken in EU countries in terms of development of small and medium-sized businesses, namely the implemented support policy. Study assesses the current situation in EU in terms of contribution of SME segment to development of economy. We analyze this experience from the point of view of possibilities of application in Russian reality, taking into account, among other things, readiness to respond to new challenges, for example, such as COVID-19 pandemic.
