DEVELOPMENT OF CONCEPT OF REGIONAL INTEGRATION AND ITS PRACTICAL APPLICATION IN MODERN CONDITIONS

Abstract

Article analyzes the key aspects of formation and modern development of theory of economic integration in context of considering the features of various methodological approaches and application of postulates of this theory to regional level of development of socio-economic systems. Key targets that are pursued by initiation and implementation of interregional integration processes are highlighted. As the main specific characteristic of processes of interregional integration that distinguish them from other forms of integration interaction, it is determined to ensure a positive result not only for integrating regions, but also for entire socio-economic system of state. Features of using such an approach to implementation are considered. Processes of interregional integration as formation of macro-regions in context of analysis of directions of ensuring the most effective integration of new subjects of Russian Federation into all-Russian economic space. In this context, proposals for creation of macro-region «Donbass» as part of Rostov and Voronezh regions, as well as Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics are analyzed.
