ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION OF DEVELOPMENT OF TRANSIT IN RUSSIA

Abstract

In the current market conditions of expansion of world trade, more and more attention is paid to development of transit, which ensures faster and optimal movement of goods (cargo). Russian Federation has a favorable economic and geographical position, but its transit potential is used inefficiently. As a result of analysis and evaluation of dynamics of transit traffic in Russian Federation, author identified the drivers of their development, key areas and prospects, taking into account the activities of international transport corridors. Proposals for development of transit across Russia, aimed at reducing transport and infrastructure restrictions; adapting modern transport technologies, including multimodal ones, to Russian conditions, which will reduce the through tariff rate for transportation; optimization of administration of transit transport by state authorities according to international requirements (standards) are considered.
