BARRIERS TO TRANSITION TO CLOSED SUPPLY CHAINS FOR TEXTILE INDUSTRY SUSTAINABILITY

Abstract

Closed supply chain is realization of modern concept of closed-loop economy in process of achieving sustainable development goals. Linear economic model and supply chain that allows resource consumption without any reverse logistics measures other than recycling is not sustainable. Driven by social change, scientific advances and legislative pressure of country of presence, industry is beginning to take this issue seriously. Shift from a linear textile supply chain due to industry specificity and link placement is a solution for sustainable development of industry. As part of this idea, a conceptual analysis and classification of barriers were carried out, covering all parts of modeled closed supply chain of industry.
