RESEARCH OF TRENDS AND PROSPECTS OF DEVELOPMENT OF CARBON-GRAPHITE INDUSTRY OF RUSSIAN ECONOMY ON EXAMPLE OF DONCARB GRAPHITE LTD

Abstract

Article deals with functioning of innovative enterprises of carbon-graphite industry that produce synthetic graphite — an important raw material for production of electric vehicles and smartphones. Results of analysis of trends in development of carbon-graphite industry, structure of sales of carbon-graphite products in world market are presented. Analysis of commodity structure of imports and exports of synthetic graphite in Russia is presented. The main factors contributing to development of synthetic graphite market were identified. Importance of development of enterprises for the production of carbon and graphite products is reflected in order to increase the level of import substitution, as well as export of raw materials in demand on the world market for production of high-tech goods. Forecast of growth of volume of world market of synthetic graphite up to 2027 is presented. The high production costs of synthetic graphite versus natural graphite, stringent environmental regulations and negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic are expected to impede the growth of synthetic graphite market. At the same time, demand for electric vehicles, electronic gadgets, smartphones and other high-tech products, as well as their sales in the world, are growing rapidly, which leads to stimulating the growth of demand for high-purity synthetic graphite.
