SURVEY OF RUSSIAN MILK AND MILK PRODUCTS MARKET’S TENDENCIES IN CASE OF IMPORT SUBSTITUTION

Abstract

Dairy industry is one of the most important parts of agro-industrial complex and is of strategic importance in economy of each country, since dairy products are necessary food product that is in demand by all segments of population. At the same time, one of leading socio-economic tasks is the need to produce and provide the necessary volume of high-quality dairy products for population. In context of the need for import substitution, problems of strategically important dairy industry have come to the fore. It became obvious, that Russia cannot provide itself with dairy products. Industry is going through difficult times — this is directly related to state of dairy farming in country. Purpose of article’s study is to provide an analytical representation of situation on dairy market in Russian Federation in context of implementation of import substitution policy, identify factors that hinder the development of dairy industry, and identify promising areas for development of production and providing the population with necessary volume of highquality dairy products.
