Corrections and Retractions

The Editorial Board of Vestnik of Rostov State University of Economics (RINH) takes appropriate action to correct the scholarly record when errors, unreliable information, or violations of research and publication ethics are identified in published materials.

Corrections to Published Articles

A correction may be issued when an error is identified after publication that requires clarification but does not call into question the reliability of the main results and conclusions of the study.

Grounds for correction may include:

• errors in data, tables, figures, or text that do not alter the principal results of the study;
• errors in author information, affiliations, or funding statements;
• significant errors in bibliographic information;
• other inaccuracies that require a documented correction of the published version.

Information about the correction must be accessible to readers and clearly linked to the original publication.

Retraction of an Article

Retraction may be considered when the circumstances identified do not allow the published work to be regarded as reliable or indicate a significant violation of the principles of research integrity.

Grounds for considering retraction may include:

• fabrication or falsification of research data or results;
• plagiarism or unauthorized use of the materials of others;
• publication of materially unreliable results;
• identification of fabricated sources or bibliographic references that are significant for the argumentation or conclusions of the article;
• duplicate or redundant publication without appropriate disclosure;
• significant violations of authorship rules;
• other violations that call into question the reliability or research integrity of the published work.

A decision on retraction is made by the Editorial Board after consideration of the available materials and, where necessary, after obtaining explanations from the authors and other relevant parties.

Editorial Notice

If the information available at the time a problem is identified is insufficient for a final decision, the Editorial Board may publish an editorial notice stating that the matter is under review.

Following completion of the review, the notice may be supplemented with information on a correction, the absence of grounds for further action, or retraction of the article.

Review Procedure

Information about a possible error or violation may be submitted by authors, readers, reviewers, research institutions, bibliographic and information systems, or identified independently by the Editorial Board.

The Editorial Board reviews the information received, assesses the nature of the problem and its impact on the reliability of the published research. Where necessary, the authors may be asked to provide explanations, underlying data, or other supporting materials.

A decision to issue a correction or retract an article is made with due regard to the nature and extent of the identified problem.

Preservation of the Scholarly Record

A retracted article is not removed without trace from the scholarly record. Information on the retraction and the grounds for the decision must remain available on the publication page.

Information on corrections or retractions is linked to the original publication. Where appropriate, information on the editorial decision may also be communicated to bibliographic and information systems in which the journal is indexed.

The Corrections and Retractions Policy is applied in conjunction with the journal’s Publication Ethics Policy.

Post-Publication Discussion

The Editorial Office welcomes substantiated scholarly comments, concerns, and information concerning possible errors in published material.

A submission should clearly identify the issue relating to the published article and, where possible, provide arguments, data, or sources that allow the concern to be assessed.

The Editorial Office reviews the information received and may request clarification from the author of the published article or seek an independent expert opinion where necessary. The submission of a critical comment does not in itself constitute grounds for altering the published record.

Where the review establishes an error or other circumstance affecting the content or reliability of the publication, the journal applies the appropriate procedure, including publication of a correction, editorial note or notice, or, where warranted, retraction of the article.
