THE STUDY OF THE FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC PERFORMANCE OF RUSSIAN ENTERPRISES ENGAGED IN THE SECONDARY PROCESSING OF RAW MATERIALS (USING THE EXAMPLE OF SMOLENSK REGION)

Abstract

In the article, the author examines the specifics of the recycling industry, and also proves that the business of collecting and processing recyclables is already a fairly highly competitive niche, which should be taken into account by those regions that plan to develop recycling, including on the basis of public-private partnership mechanisms. Although large organizations represented by regional 132 2024 № 2 Вестник Ростовского государственного экономического университета (РИНХ) operators can rely on state support, practice shows that they are still less interested in developing recycling schemes among all market participants – they currently lack any motivation for this, and first of all, economic. At the same time, small and medium-sized enterprises that harvest or process raw materials are represented on the market, and it is more convenient for processors to work with such organizations, since they receive clean raw materials ready for the production of the product. As part of the study, the author analyzed the financial and economic performance of regional companies operating under the appropriate type of OKVED, using the example of the Smolensk region, where the author carries out practical testing of scientific research, and also drew conclusions about the importance of recycling for the sustainable development of Russian regions.
