LOGISTICS OF NON-METALLIC MATERIALS IN THE NORTH-WESTERN REGION OF RUSSIA

Abstract

Article discusses the issues of organizing transport and logistics processes during the delivery of non-metallic building materials by rail at the site of Leningrad region and Republic of Karelia. Analysis of market for production of crushed granite stone and screenings is carried out. Directions for intended use of produced crushed stone and specifics of its transportation and logistics services for purposes of industrial, housing and road construction, as well as concrete production, are considered. Possibilities of actively developing the supply of non-metallic building materials to the regions of Central Russia (Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, etc.), which are the most scarce, are being explored, which predetermines the direction of more than a third of crushed stone mined in Leningrad region and Republic of Karelia along this route.
